FDCC predecessor (CCSI) supported initiatives have already helped over 10,000 Caribbean children.
One of the huge success stories, the Roving Caregivers Programme (RCP), has been replicated in five Caribbean countries, with more likely soon.
Continuing on the CCSI’s solid and proven foundation, the FDCC essentially seeks to persuade parents to adopt an interactive style of care. This will improve the cognitive and social development of vulnerable young children growing up in disadvantaged situations.
To achieve this, the CCSI (now the FDCC) pioneered the implementation of many outreach and development programmes in the Caribbean.
Crucial to spreading the message of interactive, engaged parenting is the home-visitation approach of the Roving Caregivers Programme (RCP), which was first successfully practised in Jamaica.
